ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zuliqar on Monday reviewed the progress on awareness campaign launched by the Capital police to combat Coronavirus and appreciated the morale of the force in this critical hour. In a meeting held here at Central Police Office, he said that Islamabad police is standing shoulder by shoulder with citizens and making best possible efforts to secure the lives of people through implementation on government directions. The meeting was attended among others by all DIGs, SSPs, AIGs, Zonal SPs and SDPOs.
DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed hailed the efforts of Operational Police in combating COVID-19 and said that dedication of policemen is really praiseworthy. He said that more than 10,000 surgical masks and gloves had been distributed among citizens who were also imparted awareness about preventive measures against Coronavirus. “ We would not fear from COVID-19 but to fight against it through adopting precautionary measures,” the DIG (Operations) said adding that masks, gloves and sanitizers should be distributed among policemen performing duties at police station, pickets and with mobile units. DIG (Operations) that protection kits should be provided at sensitive points and duties of policemen should not exceed eight hours who are on the frontline in accomplishing this challenging task.
