Absconder wanted in rape case arrested

Islamabad: According to the details, the Islamabad Police Special Sexual Offence Investigation Unit (SSOIU) and Noon Police Station teams have apprehended an absconder wanted in a rape case.
A citizen submitted an application at Noon police station stating that the accused, namely Muhammad Zulifqar, sexually assaulted her. Upon receiving the application the police team immediately registered the fir no. 309/24 under section 376 PPC. The DIG (Operations) Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of the incident and directed the con-cerned officials to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Following these directions, under the supervision of SSP Investigation, police teams were formed to arrest the accused involved in it. The SSOIU and Noon police team utilized all scientific and human re-sources that succeeded in apprehending a wanted absconder namely Muhammad Zulifqar.
DIG Operations appreciated the efforts of the police team and further directed the police team to submit a challan with the solid evidence in the court to ensure the conviction of the culprit. Citizens were also urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious individual or activity at the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or via the “ICT-15” app.
