KURRAM: The assistant commissioner (AC) of Boshehra, Upper Kurram, was injured as a result of firing by unidentified attackers on Friday. According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire on Assistant Commissioner Saeed Manan in the Bushara area of Upper Kurram, leaving him injured.
The police stated that Saeed Manan was present in Bushara with law enforcement personnel when the attack occurred.
He was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while a heavy police contingent launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud was also targeted in a firing incident in Lower Kur-ram, where he sustained injuries.
At the same time, a grand jirga began at the Commissioner House in Kohat to ensure lasting peace in Kurram.
The gathering was attended by Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information, along with Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed.
Military officials, peace committee members, and tribal elders from both Upper and Lower Kurram are also participating in the jirga. –Agencies
