LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday issued summons for former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz. They are directed to appear in connection with the Ramzan Sugar Mills reference on Nov 29.
Following a Supreme Court order, the NAB Lahore had again filed the reference.
The summons was issued during the hearing of the Ramzan Sugar Mills case. Earlier, the reference was sent back to the NAB Lahore in accordance with the amendments.
Earlier, After the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict in the NAB laws’ amendment case, the cases of several big guns including former president Asif Ali Zardari and former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gilani have been restored.
The Toshakhana cases of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and Yusuf Raza Gilani, and the Pink Residency reference against Zardari stand restored. Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s LNG case may be transferred from the Special Judge Central to the accountability court. –Agencies
