-Recover fake invoices, 10 stolen vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Capital Cops busted a gang of car lifters comprising of five members and recovered fake invoices along ten vehicles worth Rs. 30 million from them. According to details, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan directed DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed to ensure renewed efforts against those involved in car lifting instances. Thus, following his directions, SP Investigation Malik Naeem Iqbal was tasked to curb car theft incidents and ensure arrest of car lifters and their receivers. He in turn constituted a special team headed by In-Charge ACLC Fiaz Ahmed Ranjha including SI Mian Nur Ullah, Habib Ullah and others.
The given team succeeded to arrest five car thieves later identified as Farhad, Ali, Waseem, Shehbaz and Iqbal besides recovery of ten vehicles worth Rs. 30 million, devices used in tampering vehicles, fake stamps of various showrooms and invoices from the accused. Moreover, during preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the crooks used to tamper the chassis and engine numbers of new vehicles through a certain device and later sell them at the market on fake invoices. They got these tampered vehicles registered at Excise and Taxation Offices of Peshawar, Lahore and Islamabad.
After getting the complete details, the police team is making efforts to recover the fake registered vehicles. The vehicles recovered from these gangsters have been found stolen from various parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and their registration numbers are as follows: ADP-013 (Corolla), AMZ-423 (Atlas), ES-502 (Corolla), AKU-684 (Atlas), RX-697 (Vigo), SLO-7212 (Cultus), EZ-949 (Corolla), APC-024 (Atlas) and two other Corolla cars. DIG Operations has appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for team members.
2 ladies caught at airport as smuggling bid foiled
RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) personnel have arrested two women at Islamabad International Airport for allegedly smuggling drugs to a foreign country on Friday. The ANF officials conducted a raid on a tip-off at Islamabad airport and foiled the bid to smuggle a huge quantity of contraband medicines to a foreign country besides arresting two women. Nine packets packed with the contraband medicines weighed over 8.5 kilograms were recovered from the luggage of the passengers departing for Jeddah. A case has been registered against the women. The arrested women are identified as Shabana and Shazia. Further investigation is underway after registration of case against them.

-Cache of narcotics, weapons recovered
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops arrested 23 outlaws including eight POs and recovered huge cache of hashish, wine and weapons from them. Following the orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, he said DIG Operations had categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts against criminals and drug dealers/smugglers.
Following these directions, SP Rural Zone Farooq Amjad Butter constituted special police team under the supervision of DSP Qasim Naizi including SHO Nilor Police Station Inspector Abdul-Sattar Baig, Sub-Inspectors Zafar Iabal, Tanveer Hussain, Salamat Ali, ASIs Main Ahsan, Muhammad Sabber, Muhammad Sabbir along with others apprehended six accused namely Mujataba Hussain, Saqib Ali, Naveed Khalid, Qasir Mehmood, Hassan Javid, Waqar Hussain and recovered six 12 bore guns along with ammunitions from their possession. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway from them.
Meanwhile, PS Bara Kahu apprehended four accused Muhammad Sohail, Nasir Mehmood, Aamir Abbas and Shahid Mehmood and 335 gram hashish and 40 liters alcohol wine from their possession. PS Banigala booked accused Shahzad Ahmed and recovered 117 gram hashish from him. Tarnol police arrested accused Rameez and recovered 12 bore gun from him. Ramana police arrested accused Basit Ali and recovered 230 gram hashish from him. PS Industrial Area busted accused Ejaz Ahmed and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. PS Sabzi Mnadi booked accused Muhammad Bilal and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused while further investigation is underway from the accused. During special crackdown against absconders, on the other hand, Capital Cops nabbed eight proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various area of the city. DIG Operations appreciated the police performance. DIG Operations has said that Capital Cops were exercising all out efforts for safety and security of citizens. He also requested the citizens to inform the cops in case of any suspicious activity in their areas.
