ISLAMABAD: Asian Development Bank (ADB) has completed a pre-feasibility study for constructing a modern bus terminal in the Federal Capital in order to improve the public transport system.
It was informed in a meeting on Thursday, between a delegation from the ADB and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to discuss the prospects for establishing a modern bus terminal
The proposed bus terminal will be constructed on 32 acres in Sector I-11, featuring a commercial area, overnight car parking for big buses and minibuses, and connections to key locations in Islamabad.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized the importance of linking the terminal to important places in the city. The project seeks to eliminate encroachments, improve traffic flow, and provide modern travel facilities to passengers.
The CDA Chairman directed the adoption of the best financial model to ensure the project’s feasibility. Once completed, the bus terminal will significantly enhance the public transport infrastructure in the Federal Capital, making travel more efficient and convenient for citizens.
