ADB, UNICEF donate medical tools to Bishkek

Bishkek: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and UNICEF have donated 20 oxygen concentrators, 20 flow distributors and 27 pulse oximeters to large hospitals in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Naryn Oblast of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Health Minister, during a global COVID-19 pandemic, oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters have been used worldwide to manage patients with COVID-19. The oxygen flow divider allows distributing medical oxygen from one oxygen concentrator to several patients.
The supplies were made as part of ADB emergency medical assistance of $200,000 to help Kyrgyzstan purchase equipment through UNICEF.
Since April 2020, three ventilators, 20,000 medical gloves, 2,000 protective coveralls, 2,300 FFP2 respirators, 300 endotracheal tubes, 3,000 pediatric canules, 8,000 adult nasal canules and air ducts, and more than 1,500 respiratory systems have been delivered to hospitals across the country. All medical equipment and consumables are purchased by UNICEF from reliable and certified manufacturers in the health sector. –Agencies
