ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Monday organized a solidarity walk to mark Kashmir Black Day and express support for the people of Indian Ilegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Hundreds of students and staff members participated in the walk, holding placards and banners in support of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The participants raised slogans in favor of Kashmir and against Indian occupation.
The walk began at the university’s main gate and concluded at the academic complex. It was organized by the Directorate of Student Advisory and Counselling Services on the directions of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
Speakers said the observance of Kashmir Black Day highlighted Pakistan’s firm support for the Kashmiri people. In his message, Dr. Nasir Mahmood said the sacrifices of Kashmiris would not be forgotten and that educational institutions would continue to raise their voice for their cause.
At the end of the walk, participants reaffirmed their commitment to stand by the people of Kashmir in their struggle for freedom.
