AirSial to be launched next month

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s newest private airline, AirSial, is starting its fleet with an Airbus A320. The plane is on its way from the US and will land in Karachi soon. The airline will start operations with three planes. With the arrival of these planes, AirSial will finally be able to start operations. The airline’s management hopes to operate its first flight ahead of the new year.
AirSial will start with flights between Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot and Peshawar before expanding operations. The airline is a project of members of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was conceived in 2015 after Sialkot’s business community constructed the city’s airport on its own. That makes it the country’s first and only privately owned airport. – Agencies

Soft skills, honesty termed key protectors for jobs

By Hina Kiyani

RAWALPINDI: CEO of Knight Human Management (KHM) and SHALAAN Pakistan, Mr. Khalid Nawaz has said that interpersonal skills, also referred to as “soft skills”, like active listening, team work, dependability, responsibility, leadership, motivation, flexibility, patience and empathy coupled with honesty and truth are the best protectors of job at any place.
While addressing the participants of a special training workshop for overseas worker here in KHM office on Sunday, he also stressed the need to flourish these skills in students of all schools, colleges, universities and technical training institutes to make them in their professional and practical lives worth-loving, attractive and prominent for employers in and outside the country.
“The one who is very competent in mechanical skill but sans these qualities would be insecure at his job while the persons with these skills having less competency in mechanical skills would enjoy job security”, he added. Khalid Nawaz said these job security skills are part and parcel of our training here in KHM and every skill development institute and school must adhere to. He asked the concerned authorities of government to include a special subject of interpersonal skills development in all classes of schools, colleges and universities including technical training institutes while formulating new national educational policy.
