ISLAMABAD: Federal Ministers Abdul Aleem Khan and Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Friday reviewed progress on the CAREC Tranche-III project connecting Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismail Khan, stressing the need to resolve outstanding issues and expedite implementation.
The high-level joint meeting was co-chaired by the Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and the Federal Minister of Energy (Power Division), Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, to review the progress on all four lots of the project, said a press release.
The joint session was convened at the specific request of the Federal Minister for Power Division to review progress on the CAREC Tranche-III project.
During the meeting, progress on all four lots of the project, aimed at improving connectivity among Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismail Khan, was reviewed. Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA) briefed the participants on the overall implementation status of the project.
The meeting also discussed matters relating to the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plan (LARP), including land acquisition, resettlement of affected people, and the measures required to fulfil the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) requirements. Emphasis was placed on addressing outstanding issues and ensuring the timely completion of the project.
Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division), Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, stressed the need to accelerate project progress, effectively address implementation-related matters and to ensure coordinated efforts to resolve the issues at hand.
Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) Sardar Ammar Ahmad Khan Leghari, Sardar Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Dreshak and Sardar Shamsher Ali Mazari, along with Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry and other relevant officials, also attended the meeting.
