Islamabad: Nong Rong, the new Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, presented his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi, here on Tuesday. The two sides also had a cordial and friendly conversation on China-Pakistan relations. Ambassador Nong conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to President Alvi, and expressed his appreciation for President Alvi’s high interest in Sino-Pakistan relations and practical actions to support the friendship between the two countries. Nong said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners. The friendship between the two countries has always been unbreakable and rock-solid, and the cooperation between the two countries has always maintained vigorous vitality. Nong briefed the President the situation of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, saying that the plenary session proposed that China will open up to the outside world at a high level and promote the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative. China’s development will better benefit neighboring friendly countries such as Pakistan. China is willing to work with Pakistan to build the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, especially anti-epidemic cooperation, to benefit the two peoples and jointly promote regional peace and development.
President Alvi asked Ambassador Nong to convey his sincere gratitude and greetings to President Xi Jinping and warmly welcome Ambassador Nong to take up his new post in Pakistan. Alvi said that Pakistan and China are hard-core friends. The two countries share broad common interests in common development and safeguarding regional and world peace and stability. Pakistan stands firmly with China on issues involving China’s core interests. The current Pakistani government is actively committed to developing the economy and improving people’s livelihood, and highly appreciates that China’s development has brought important opportunities to the world and the region. Pakistan will unswervingly advance the development of bilateral relations and the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and jointly benefit the two countries and the people of the region.
