Ammar Chowk project completed, says Chairman RDA

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has said that construction work on Ammar Chowk project has been completed.

While talking about three mega projects in Rawalpindi including Ammar Chowk, Kachehri Chowk and Defense Chowk here on Sunday, he said that Ammar Chowk project was completed and now project work of Kachehri Chowk would be started very soon keeping in view the traffic load and continuity of traffic flow on these roads.

Tariq Mehmood said that Kachehri Chowk project has been approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the cost of this project will be Rs4.7 billion. He said Kachehri Chowk project’s two-story flyover design is a unique design and it will be a first of its kind project in the country.

He said design work of Kachehri Chowk has been completed and shifting of service will be started very soon in this month January 2022 and tendering procedure will be started in March 2022. He said when development work of this project is completed then the Defense Chowk project will also be started and its cost will be Rs2.1 billion.

The Chairman RDA said that according to the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, steps have been taken to make the surrounding area clean and green. In the midst of the construction work, great care has been taken to ensure that the people have the least difficulty and do not have to worry about restricted mobility.

He said that despite Covid-19 last year and now the harsh winter season the development work is going on. Talking about Ammar Chowk project, Tariq Mehmood appreciated the speed and quality of work and thanked the Station Headquarters Rawalpindi, the Chaklala Cantt Board and FWO for their full cooperation and support in moving this important project in the right direction and completed it.
