ANF foils smuggling bid busting three

-Recovers 18kg heroin hidden in CNG cylinder

ISLAMABAD: The intelligence personnel of Anti-Narcotics Force; ANF foiled an attempt to smuggle a cache of heroin and busted three persons including a woman, here on Sunday.
According to details, ANF team stopped a vehicle at Toll Plaza on Motorway near Islamabad and recovered 18 kilograms of heroin hidden in the CNG cylinder of the vehicle. The 18 packets of heroin recovered were worth millions of rupees.
Moreover, this has come to light that the traffickers used to sell their drugs usually in Lahore, Faisalabad and Sialkot. It is pertinent to mention here that ANF had seized drugs worth 8300 million dollars during August.

16 including 12 POs held, arms recovered

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops on Sunday busted 16 including 12 proclaimed offenders, from various parts of the city and recovered weapons from their possession.
According to details, following the directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed, all officials of Capital Cops have accelerated their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.
Following these directions SP Saddar Muhammad Sarfraz Virk constituted a cops’ team under the supervision of PS Shalimar’s SHO SI Sulman Shah, SI Khalid Javed along with others, booked two accused Muhammad Shahzad and Saddam Hussain and recovered two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. PS Bara Kaho apprehended accused Asif Raiz and recovered one pistol from him while PS Ramna caught accused Abdullah and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from him.
Separate cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. Moreover, during special checking in the whole city, police nabbed 12 proclaimed offenders. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated this performance and directed all SHOs for effective crackdown against those involved in drug peddling activities. He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from such menace. He said that performance in this regard would be reviewed on continuous basis.
The DIG also categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.
