RAWALPINDI: The 8th Annual Pothohari Literary Conference was jointly organized by Punjab Council of Arts (PUCAR) and Pothohari Literary Society here on Wednesday.
Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk presided over the event while special guests included Qazi Shaukat Mehmood, Dr. Abdul Wajid Tabassum and Dr. Humaira Ashfaq. The duties of anchorperson were performed by Chaudhry Rafaqat.
The Pothohari Literary Conference consisted of four sections which included the launching of 12 books, distribution of awards among eminent personalities, Pothohari music and poetry recital. Dr. Mansoor Vesio, Hassan Nawaz Shah, Dr. Wahid Bakhsh Buzdar and Dr. Sadia Kamal were also present on the occasion.
In his presidential address, Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk said that all mother language of Pakistan are flowers in a bouquet.
He said that the role of literary organizations in promoting mother language was also commendable. At the end of the ceremony, the guests were thanked by Punjab Arts Council and Pothohari Literary Society.
