Another audio of Saqib Nisar instructing PTI lawyer about SC decisions leaked

STAFF REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Another purported audio of former chief justice Saqib Nisar has surfaced in which he can be heard asking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) lawyer Khawaja Tariq Rahim to have a look at a suo motu notice.

In the audio surfaced on Tuesday, Saqib Nisar can be heard giving instructions to PTI’s lawyer on filing a contempt petition as part of the anti-government plot.

The former chief justice can also be heard telling PTI’s lawyer about the decisions of the Supreme Court and complaining about the change of government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

“Khawaja Sahib! I wanted to make a request to you,” Saqib Nisar can be heard saying this.

“Yes! Go ahead,” Khawaja Tariq Rahim replied.

“You must see a judgement. This is a judgement of seven members,” Saqib Nisar said.

“Which judgement?” Khawaja Tariq Rahim sought explanation.

“This is our suo motu. This is our No 4 suo motu of 2010. Supreme Court’s seven members judgement 2012, Page No 553. You will know when you read it,” he explained.

“I have seen it. I will read it,” Khawaja Tariq Rahim replied.

“This is a seven-member bench judgement in which they have said that the action is not supposed to be of a judge,” Saqib Nisar further said.

“I see,” Khawaja Tariq Rahim replied.

“Whoever your lawyer is, tell him to look at it,” the former chief justice asked him.

“If you read carefully, [you see] a high note to CJ Clause (3),” Khawaja Tariq Rahim said to Saqib Nisar.

“Yes…Yes! I have seen it. That is the way out we have,” Saqib Nisar stated.

“Yes, that is the way out,” Khawaja Tariq Rahim agreed.

“Yes, that is the way out. Otherwise, there remains no case,” Saqib Nisar added.

“Yes, you are right. I’ll see it now,” Khawaja Tariq Rahim said to Saqib Nisar.

“One more thing Khawaja Sahib! If some man of yours is ready, you can use the Munir Ahmad Khan case too. This is a clear case of contempt of court,” Saqib Nisar told Khawaja Tariq Rahim.

“That too will happen,” Khawaja Tariq replied.

About a month ago, another purported audio leak, allegedly featuring Saqib Nisar, had come to light. The purported conversation took place with former Punjab governor and PTI leader Khawaja Tariq Rahim.

In the leak of an alleged telephone call, the voices said to be those of Saqib Nisar and Rahim, who is also a lawyer for PTI Chairman Imran Khan, could be heard discussing PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz and her public speeches.

“Sir! Respond to them appropriately,” the voice said to be that of Rahim tells the former CJP. “The way this woman is speaking, teach her a lesson outside.” “You know what I had thought about it? I recall something that Tarar sahib once said,” responded Mr Nisar.

Rahim said “you gave an appropriate response on [a private TV channel]”. The former CJP then said: “Thank God, I have courage, I can bear it. I don’t get confused or depressed. But if need be, I will ask you to drop a bomb on the side, and I know you will.” Rahim responded: “Sure, let me know. Whatever you say will happen. Any time you like.”
