ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Koral police team has busted a notorious robbers’ gang involved in numerous incidents of robberies in different areas of twin cities, a police spokesman said.
He said that following orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas, a massive campaign against criminal elements is on full swing. Following the orders, SP Rural zone Zia Ud Din directed all zonal SDPOs, SHOs to arrest those involved in street crimes and looting people on gunpoint. According to details, a police team of Koral police station headed by SHO Koral Muhammad Azeem Minhas along with other officials arrested two accused of a notorious gang known as Jabar gang identified as Imran Ahmad and jabar Iqbal. Police team also recovered mobile phones, bike used in crime and weapons along with ammunition. During preliminary investigation the accused have confessed their involvement in numerous cases of snatching and house robberies in areas of ghauri town, lehtrar road and different areas of Rawalpindi. Further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated the performance of the police team and further directed to all zonal officers to intensify the security in their respective areas and arrest those looting people and recover the looted valuables.
