RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday reached Saudi Arabia on official visit.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS will hold meetings with civil, military leadership of Saudi Arabia.
His visit came days before Prime Minister Imran’s visit who would arrive in Riyadh on the 25th of Ramadan where he will meet with the Saudi leadership and perform Umrah, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry confirmed Tuesday.
On the occasion of his visit to Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister will offer special prayers for the nation as well as the Muslim Ummah. During his press conference, Fawad Chaudhry said that the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia holds much importance as it will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
On April 29, the Prime Minister had welcomed Saudi Arabia’s initiative for peace with Iran and said that it would strengthen the Muslim Ummah. In his message on Twitter, PM Imran said: “We welcome the KSA initiative for peace with Iran. Iran is our neighbour and KSA our closest friend. This peace initiative will strengthen the Muslim Ummah.”–ISPR
