ISLAMABAD: The Airports’ Security Force (ASF) personnel on Wednesday arrested a man at Islamabad Airport for carrying a 30-bore pistol and 25 bullets in luggage while departing to United Kingdom (UK) en-route Abu Dhabi.
According to details, A 30-bore pistol and 25 bullets have been recovered from an Abu Dhabi-bound flyer by security officials during scanning of his luggage. The passenger was identified as Fawad Shah, said the airport sources, adding that he, along with his sister, was departing to United Kingdom (UK) en-route
Abu Dhabi.
After taking into custody, the ASF officials have handed him over to the airport police station and allowed the woman to go to her house, sources added.
Two criminals’ gangs busted

ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Capital Cops has arrested six members of two criminals’ gangs and recovered six stolen motorbikes, snatched mobile phones, wine and weapons from them.
According to details, following directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in crime of heinous nature.
Owing to these efforts, teams headed by SP Investigation Malik Naeem Iqbal including DSP CIA Hakim Khan, ASIs Zulfqar Ali, Safdar Hussain, Fayyaz Ahmed, Muhammad Akram Ranjha, Iftkhir Ahmed and other officials successfully arrested six members of two criminal’s gangs.
The accused were later identified as Younas, Ghulam Shabbir, Khanzada, Aamir Shahzad, Taj and Javed. Cops’ team also recovered six stolen motorbikes, snatched mobile phones, valuables, wine and weapons used in various criminal incidents. Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the culprits confessed of their involvement in incidents of looting citizens on gunpoint at various areas of the city.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons while further investigation is underway from them and the police team is hopeful for more recoveries from them. DIG Operations Waqar-uddin Syed has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials to ensure arrest of criminals at large and take effective policing measures in the city.
Four including two car lifters held
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops arrested four criminals including two car lifters and recovered weapons along with ammunition from their possession.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ordered crackdown against criminal elements. Following these orders, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
As par directions, SP Rural Farooq Amjad Butter constituted special team under supervision of DSP Rukhsar Medhi including SHO Sihla police station, Inspector Muhammad Bashir along with other officials which successfully arrested four accused including two car lifters.
The crooks were later identified as Javid and Baber; car lifters and Atif Jalil and Nasir Jalil and recovered one SMG and one 12 bore gun along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further legal proceeding is underway against them.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the every person of the society to remain alert against those involve d in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
