AVLC arrests nine car lifters

-Recovers 7 vehicles, 4 motorbikes

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Islamabad Police has arrested nine accused of two inter-provincial gangs of car and motorbike lifters, seven vehicles and four motorbikes recovered from them worth millions of rupees, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
According to details, DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar directed to ensure renewed efforts against those involved in car/motorbike lifting. Following his directions, SSP (Investigation) Atta Ur-Rehman assigned special task to AVLC to curb car theft incidents and ensure arrest of car lifters and their receivers. He constituted a special team headed by ASP AVLC, In-Charge AVLC Sub-Inspector Habib-Ullah including ASIs Zaka Shah, Waheed Ahmed, Manzoor Elahi, Abara Shahand others.

Car and motorbike lifters identified as Kamran Kashmiri, Sikander Hayat, Zahuid Iqbal, Sabbar Hussain, , Ilyas, Muhmmad Nadeem, Muhammad Hassan Alias Samri, Muhammad Iqbal and Shahbaz beside recovery of seven vehicles and four motorbikes worth millions of rupees.
The vehicles recovered from these gangsters have been found stolen from various areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and their details are as follows: Toyota Corolla Car registration No, LEE-2589, Suzuki Mehran Car,Suzuki Pick up, Suzuki Mehran Car registration No, LZC-9825, Suzuki Pick up registration No, TA-785, Suzuki Mehran Car MNA-3617, Suzuki Mehran Car MW-714, Motorbike, registration No RIR-6793, Motorbike, registration No CAL-397, motorbikeCD-70cc and on 125 motorbike IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar have appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for team members.
