AVLU arrest two of notorious vehicle lifter gangs

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, the Islamabad Police is continuing indiscriminate operations against individuals involved in vehicle theft in the federal capital.
In this regard, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit police team conducted an effective operation using technical and human resources and arrested two members of the organized criminal gang, who had previous criminal records and were wanted in multiple vehicle theft cases.
Stolen vehicles linked to more than six cases, worth Rp. 6.7 million were recovered from the arrested accused. The accused were identified as Shah Nawaz and Mushtaq. During the initial investigation, the arrested accused confessed to involvement in multiple incidents of car theft in various areas of Islamabad. Further investigation is ongoing.
SSP Investigation Suleman Zafar stated that Islamabad Police is taking all possible measures to protect the lives and property of citizens. No criminal elements will be allowed to disturb public peace. Citizens are also requested to immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant police station or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” so that, through mutual cooperation between the police and the public, the city can be made crime-free.
