‘Awareness campaign over Coronavirus initiated’

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Health Dr. Yasmeen Rashid has said that an affective advertisement campaign is also being run for creating maximum awareness among the masses regarding coronavirus. She said that the Health Department is ready to deal with any untoward situation and emergency in the province.
She stated this while chairing a high-level meeting held on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at Chief Minister Secretariat on Tuesday.
Member Punjab Assembly Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman Younas, Secretary Information and Culture Raja Jahangir Anwar, Additional IG Operations Punjab Inam Ghani, Secretary Schools Education, Secretary Local Government, Secretary Higher Education, DG PDMA, Special Secretary Health Department Saloot Saeed and Attaché Larazein and Paping Zaing Wo from Chinese Consulate and other officers were also present on this occasion.
The Health Minister reviewed advance measures and recent situation of suspected cases of coronavirus throughout the province. Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman Younas and Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan informed the Minister about the advance precautionary measures being taken throughout the province to cope up with coronavirus.
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said screening process of passengers at the airports and on land routes are being carried out. People should also adopt preventive measures keeping in view principles of hygiene. On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab details are being obtained from different departments on daily basis regarding coronavirus. All the necessary medical equipments and medicines are available in abundance in all ICUs, she added.
The Minister urged media to play its due positive role for creating awareness among the masses regarding coronavirus. Government is also monitoring advance measures being taken .–Agencies
