BAKU: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in course of the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on issues arising from the joint trilateral statement of November 10 signed between the president of Azerbaijan, the president of Russia, and the Armenian prime minister.
The FMs also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation on the agenda, as well as regional issues of mutual interest.
Earlier December 2, a telephone conversation was took place between Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The Ministers exchanged their views on the implementation of the trilateral statement of 10 November, 2020. The sides also discussed other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In mid November, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.
In follow-up to the conversations between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the ministers discussed in detail the implementation of the November 9, 2020 Joint Statement by the Leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation on declaring a ceasefire and ending all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
They devoted special attention to coordinating practical steps of the parties to this statement in the context of deploying a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces and organising its work on the ground.
At the request of Jeyhun Bayramov, Sergey Lavrov discussed the main aspects of efforts to fulfil the November 13, 2020 executive order of the President of the Russian Federation On the Interdepartmental Humanitarian Response Centre.
The ministers also reaffirmed the need to actively involve international organisations, including the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the UN Development Programme, UNESCO and the International Committee of the Red Cross, for the purpose of facilitating a post-conflict settlement, accomplishing humanitarian tasks and preserving the religious and cultural heritage in the region.
