Babar Azam propels Central Punjab to beat Baluchistan by 9 wickets

Rawalpindi: Babar Azam scored 64 runs off 40 balls to help Central Punjab (CP) beat Baluchistan by 9 wickets in 22nd match of National T20 Cup.
CP’s skipper partnered with his opening partner Kamran Akmal to provide a solid opening stand of 86 runs to his team. Babar smashed nine boundaries and two sixes during his stay at the crease.
Akmal scored 33 runs off 27 balls with the help of six boundaries. Abdullah Shafiq made 28 runs laced with four boundaries. For Baluchistan, only Amad Butt bagged a wicket. Earlier, captain Haris Sohail guided Baluchistan to post 125-8 in 20 overs after being sent into bat first. Haris scored 41 runs off 36 balls with the help of three boundaries and as many sixes. Akbar-ur-Rehman made 19 runs while Amad smashed a six and a four to score 15 off 9 deliveries. Umaid Asif made 14 off 10.
Ahmed Bashir was the pick of the bowlers for CP as the right-arm bowler took 4-23. Qasim Akram took 2 wickets for 7 runs while Usman Qadir and Faheem Ashraf shared a wicket apiece.
