BEIJING: Chinese capital will tighten its health monitoring measures for overseas arrivals, including those who have entered China in the last 21 days, local authorities said on Tuesday.
Beijing will comprehensively enhance the prevention and control of the coronavirus pandemic, said Xu Hejian, spokesperson for the Beijing Municipal Government, at a press conference.
The city reported seven new locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday. Winter vacation will begin earlier than scheduled at primary and secondary schools in Beijing amid the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the city, an official said. Primary schools will close on January 16, while the winter break will start on January 23 for grade 1 and 2 secondary schools students, announced a spokesperson for Beijing Municipal Education Commission.
