Bike lifter held, eight bikes recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Koral police team has arrested a bike lifter involved in numerous bike lifting incidents in areas of Koral and Khanna.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in drug peddling and looting people. Following these orders, SSP Operations Faisal Kamran directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
According to the details, a Koral police team headed by SHO Muhammad Azeem Minhas with ASI Zulfiqar and other officials accelerated its efforts to arrest those involved in bike lifting and apprehended an accused identified as Haseeb Ur Rehman s/o Shah Nawaz. Police team also recovered 08 stolen bikes.
Out of these recovered bikes, 04 were stolen from Koral areas and two from Khanna areas. Further investigation is underway for more recovery.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated this performance of the police team and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.
