Bishkek seeks to further improve bilateral relations with Moscow

Moscow: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov told representatives of the large Russian business about promising economic projects in Kyrgyzstan and called for active cooperation.
The press service of the Kyrgyz president reported that the meeting took place on Thursday in the Russian capital city of Moscow.
“We express a high interest in cooperation with leading Russian companies, which are world leaders in their sectors, and their business in Kyrgyzstan. The issues of energy, industry and infrastructure development, tourism and new technologies are the most relevant spheres of our cooperation,” Zhaparov stressed.
In addition, he noted the great potential in the light industry, in the direction of opening of joint export-oriented enterprises of clothing and textile industry, processing of agricultural products, including the promotion of issues of construction in Kyrgyzstan trade and logistics centers of agricultural products for the accumulation and further supply to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and foreign countries.
“In general, the potential for possible cooperation is high, the areas of interaction are diverse. As the head of state, who advocates dynamic, stable and sustainable development of his country, I urge the Russian business community to consider Kyrgyzstan as a reliable business partner, and invite you to active cooperation and joint implementation of major investment projects.
I am confident that the results of talks, as well as the implementation of the agreements reached will soon have an impact on the indicators of mutual trade and the volume of Russian investments in the Kyrgyz economy,” Zhaparov emphasized.
Separately, Kyrgyz President also met with Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, his press service said on Thursday.
Prior to the meeting start, the Kyrgyz president left an entry in the Honorary Guests book, after which members of the delegations of Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federal Assembly were introduced.
Sadyr Zhaparov and Valentina Matviyenko exchanged views on a number of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, including the inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries.
