CANBERRA: Pakistan team’s skipper Bismah Maroof has dedicated the first win in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to all their fans out there who are supporting them from back home.
In a video message released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) just after Pakistan beat West Indies by eight wickets, Bismah said that they played their best against their opponents and a win in the start has boosted confidence.
“This win was a major boost up for us as a team. Our plan was simple, go out there and give our best. Starting the tournament in such a way will give us more power ahead. This win is for all the people who are supporting us from back home,” she said. It must be noted here that Pakistan will play their second game in Group B against England on 28 February.
