BEIJING: Parks in Beijing have imposed limits to the number of visitors as an anti-epidemic measure, the municipal park authorities said Tuesday. Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks said the move aims to avoid gatherings, while more epidemic prevention and control measures have also been introduced since citizens recently made more visits to parks across the city. Statistics showed that the number of tourists received by parks in Beijing has been declining since the Spring Festival. The average figure stood at nearly 3,000 per day by mid-Feb, but increased to more than 5,000 on Feb. 22. On Feb. 23, the number of visitors to each park jumped to over 8,000, about 30 percent of the daily park reception of the same period last year. Park workers are required to wear masks and gloves, and visitors also need to put on masks and have their body temperature checked, according to Zhang Yahong, deputy director of the administration center. – Agencies
