BRASILIA: Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday praised the longstanding Brazil-China friendship via Twitter following a phone conversation earlier in the day with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, on bilateral ties and the battle against COVID-19.
Attached with the tweet was a picture showing Bolsonaro sitting at a table with Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo, Agriculture Minister Tereza Cristina, and Environment Minister Ricardo Salles.
Brazilian Senator Roberto Rocha, who is president of the Senate’s Brazil-China parliamentary group, said the conversation made it clear that “the Brazilian government recognizes China as a great partner of Brazil, and aims to further deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, not only at this time of crisis, but also in times of normality.” –Agencies
