QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced a targeted operation against terrorists in the province during a press conference in Quetta.
He highlighted there was no alternative to action against those involved in killings and expressed sorrow over the abduction of 10-year-old Musawir Khan.
CM Bugti called on political parties opposing the operation to suggest solutions to terrorism, stating that no government wants such crimes, including child abductions, to persist.
The operation follows the recent approval by the National Action Plan’s Apex Committee for a military operation against terrorist goups in Balochistan. Earlier, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has vowed to root out terrorism with full might, saying CTD conducted a successful operation in Musakhel in which it killed three hardcore militants.
In a statement, the CM said terrorists targeted innocent people whereas CTD and other security forces carried out intelligence based operation and only eliminated those who were involved in targeting civilians.
The CM expressed satisfaction over the successful operation of the CTD and security forces in Radasham area of the province.
He paid tribute to the soldiers and said terrorists will be defeated on every front in Balochistan, adding the CTD and security forces foiled terrorist activities by taking timely action.
Brave men of our security forces are fighting bravely against the terrorists. Their sacrifices will not go waste, Sarfraz Bugti said. –Agencies
