ISLAMABAD: Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) Lt. Gen. (retd) Anwar Ali Hyder has said that the business community is the backbone of the economy and their problems would be resolved on a preferential basis.
Talking to a delegation of the Islamabad Industrial Association (IIA) led by its President Tariq Sadiq who called on him here on Friday, he said that the government is paying special attention to boost economic activities for which cooperation of the business community is of paramount importance.
Anwar Ali Hyder urged the private sector to fully participate in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme for low-cost housing projects which will generate economic activity and provide jobs amid the pandemic. The delegation apprised Chairman and Deputy Chairman NAPHDA about their problems including the issue of lease renewal of industrial plots and the CDA has referred the matter to NAPHDA.
They added that due to expired lease, many industrialists were not able to get bank loans or initiate new investments on which the Chairman assured renewal of leases and resolution of the outstanding problems being faced by the industrialists. The delegation said that a new industrial estate is being developed on the ring road near Hakla Interchange where the IIA will cooperate in the construction of low-cost houses which was appreciated.
