JHELUM: Member National Assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Farrukh Altaf
has said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar is working for the
promotion of arts and culture in the province. The campaign to discover new
Talent on the land of Jhelum is an appreciable step which has given an
opportunity to the youth of the district to present their art to the world.
These views were expressed by him on the occasion of organizing of six
competitions under Punjab Talent Hunt under the auspices of Punjab Arts
Council Rawalpindi (PUCAR) which was held at Government Graduate College
Tahlianwala Jhelum. The competitions included music, painting, handicrafts,
fiction, drama and folk dance.
Addressing the participants taking position in the district competitions of
Punjab Talent Hunt, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Noman Hafeez said that Punjab
Talent Hunt is a great platform for the youth of Jhelum which will be held
in district, divisional and provincial level. He said that the youth should
make a name for themselves in the world with their hard work and talent.
Director Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi Waqar Ahmed said that Punjab Talent
is a unique program of its kind which has created a special image of Punjab
and Pakistan in front of the world. Ali Haider, Mohammad Maysar and Dua
Zahra won first, second and third positions respectively in the music
competition held at Government Graduate College Tahlianwala. Majida Shabbir
came first in the painting competition while Tabassum came second and Maha
Gul came third.
In the short story writing competition, Mubashir Nawaz was awarded first
prize, while Mohammad Omar and Mohammad Faizan came second and third
respectively. In the handicraft competition, Maryam Zubair came first, while
Mohammad Omar came second and Ameer Hamza came third. In the folk dance
competitions, Jhula Lal group won the first position while Lajpal group and
Awami group won the second and third prizes respectively.
In the theater competitions, Drama Umeed came first, Ilam Da Khazana came
second and Aman came third. Prizes of thousands of rupees and certificates
of appreciation were distributed among the children who secured the
position.
