Cabinet okays salary, perks for NAB Chief

ISLAMABAD: Federal cabinet has approved the salary package, perquisites and fringe benefits of Chairman, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lt. General (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt.
The Ministry of Law and Justice after the approval of the federal cabinet issued a circulation summary for determining the terms and conditions of the Chairman NAB as admissible to a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The federal government may determine the terms and conditions of the Chairman NAB as per section 6(b)(v) of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, as amended vide (National Accountability 2nd Amendment Act, 2022)
Chairman NAB will receive a salary of Rs1.7 million per month salary, government residence, two vehicles, and a two-kanals plot in the federal capital. He will also receive get 2000 units of electricity and 600 litres of petrol each month
It is relevant to note here that Chairman NAB predecessor had also enjoyed the same terms and conditions. The sta-tus and perquisites of NAB Chairman commensurates with a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention here that Lt. General (retired) Nazir Ahmad has been appointed as Chairman NAB on March 6.
