Cabinet reviewed 172 names on ECL, 32 cases sent for review: Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the federal cabinet reviewed as many as 172 names on the Exit Control List, and sent 32 cases for review to a committee.

Speaking in a press briefing after the cabinet meeting, the information minister said: “Zardari has a solid place in the ECL list.”

The premier said that in the six-month time Pakistan received phenomenal success in the realm of foreign policy.

“Pakistan has become a significant player in the Middle East. After a span of as many as 12 years, a United Arab Emirates official visited the country. Saudi crown prince Muhammad bin Salman’s Pakistan visit will vindicate Pakistan’s position in the Middle East,” he said.

Chaudhry said that PM Imran holds the vision to put Pakistan on a strategic position between China and India.

“Our relations with the US is improving. It’s the first time the US is following Pakistan’s point of view. Pakistan played an important role in the dialogue between Washington and Taliban,” he said. “PM Imran believes dialogue is the only solution for war.”

The cabinet has approved to put the Karachi Infrastructure Development Company under cabinet division.

The information minister said that the Karachi Infrastructure Development Company will be directly under the mandate of the premier.

Cabinet approves Haj policy, around 184,000 Pakistanis to perform the ritual

The information minister said that under the approved policy around 184,000 Pakistanis will perform Haj, adding that direct Haj flights will be operationalised from Quetta. “We will give a Haj quota of 10,000 people for the elderly people, and 500 for low-income labourers,” he said.
