ISLAMABAD: The Motorway foiled a bid to smuggle drugs and recovered cache of narcotics from an abandoned vehicle on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) on Tuesday.
The Motorway got information that a vehicle met with accident near Brahma Interchange on M-1.
When police reached the scene, the vehicle was found to be uninhibited and during its search, cache of narcotics including 23 kilogram opium, 21 kilogram hashish and five kilogram heroin were recovered from secret cavities of the vehicle.
The vehicle along with recovered narcotics were handed over to Hassanabdal police station which after registering a case into the incident have started an investigation.
