Capital Cops aid Capitaliites amidst torrential rains

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, officers and officials of the Islamabad Police are present across the federal capital during the ongoing torrential rains to ensure timely assistance to citizens in any emergency.


In this regard, traffic police officers and officials are actively working on the roads to maintain smooth traffic flow and assist vehicles and motorcyclists stuck in flood waters. Additionally, the Mechanic on Wheels service and the Traffic Help Unit are also available on the roads in case of vehicle or motorcycle breakdowns. Furthermore, special teams have been deployed during office hours on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
IGP Islamabad has directed all officers to remain in the field and assist rain-affected citizens in their respective areas. He emphasized that traffic police officers must ensure the smooth flow of traffic, and all officers should be prepared to provide timely help to residents living near storm drains in case of emergencies, ensuring their safety.
He also stated that continuous monitoring through Safe City cameras is underway to respond promptly to any emergency situations in the city. All units of the Islamabad Police, including the Dolphin Response Unit and the Ababeel Squad, are deployed across the city to assist citizens.
Citizens are being kept informed of the latest updates through Islamabad Police Radio FM 92.4. In case of an emergency, citizens can call “Pukar” at 15 or the traffic helpline at 1915.
