ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police conducted a grand search and sweep operation in nullahs passing through posh sectors from F-6 to F11, a police spokesman said.
He said that, heavy contingents from four police stations headed by SP City Muhammad Umar Khan and SP Saddar Muhammad Sarfraz Virk participated in this search and sweep operation. During this operation 11 suspects were held and shifted to police stations for interrogation.
SSP (Operations) Islamabad Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has said that the purpose of this grand search operation was to ensure that nullahs don’t get used for criminal activities and to heighten the security of federal capital and to curb the crime.
He further directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities.
The SSP emphasized that it is collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them. “Safety of life and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no stone would be left unturned in this regard” the SSP added.
