Capital Cops, institutions join hands against drug abuse

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, held a coordination meeting at the Central Police Office with educational institutions to completely eradicate narcotics.
Senior officers of Islamabad Police along with representatives of schools and colleges attended the meeting. During the meeting, Islamabad Police and the administration of educational institutions formally appointed focal persons to ensure effective coordination.
It was also decided to formulate a comprehensive strategy for the eradication of narcotics and to protect the younger generation from this menace, so that all elements involved in this heinous trade could be effectively dealt with.
Along with this, a decision was made to organize special awareness seminars to educate the younger generation about the harmful effects of narcotics. All participants reaffirmed their commitment to utilize all available resources to safeguard the bright future of the younger generation, and emphasized that no leniency or negligence would be tolerated at any stage.
It was further resolved that narcotics networks would not only be dismantled, but all individuals involved would be exposed and subjected to strict legal action, ensuring they are brought to justice.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that at the government level in Pakistan, Islamabad Police along with all other law enforcement department are actively working against narcotics.
He added that the “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign of Islamabad Police is part of this broader effort, aimed at eliminating narcotics from society. He further stated that for better results and effective monitoring, representatives of educational institutions would be provided with proper training.
He urged all educational institutions to fully cooperate with law enforcement department to protect students from this menace. IGP Islamabad also requested heads of educational institutions to jointly conduct awareness campaigns with law enforcement agencies to protect young students from narcotics and to educate them about its dangers, so that awareness could be raised among the youth.
Expressing his firm resolve, IGP Islamabad reiterated that Islamabad Police would not only dismantle drug dealers’ networks but would also never allow any miscreant elements to destroy the lives of the younger generation.
All those involved in this disgusting and criminal trade will be brought before the courts and dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
