Capital cops to set up control room during lockdown

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have decided to set up a control room to provide guidance and assistance to citizens during lockdown in the city.
The decisions to this effect was made in a meeting here on Tuesday presided over by IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqiar and was attended among others by all DIGs, SSPs, AIGs and Zonal SPs.
The meeting decided to start training program for personnel of the force as how to protect themselves against Coronavirus. It was also decided that citizens will be also educated about precautionary measures through a special awareness campaign.
The Control room would promptly respond to the complaints of the citizens. The IGP directed all SPs to conduct meetings with the representatives of civil society and people of slum areas to sensitize them about challenging situation and protective measures.
He also directed to provide gloves and masks to all police officials as well as jawans and always keep sensitizers and other medical equipment in vehicles of police.
Mr. Aamir Zulfiqar said that purpose of all these steps is to secure lives of policemen and citizens. He also appealed the citizens to cooperate with police in this regard.
