ISLAMABAD: A hoax call was made with Islamabad police on Pucar-15 emergency helpline for a car theft incident in the precincts of Shahzad Town police station. During the call a citizen informed the police that a car theft incident took place with him.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq took strict notice of the incident and directed the senior officials to conduct a merit based investigation and submit a report.
Senior police officers and Shahzad Town police team rushed to the spot to collect evidence. After thorough an investigation and CCTV footage the call of the citizen was found fake upon which legal action was initiated against him.
The police team also arrested the accused and registered a case against him, while further investigation is underway. During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed that he made a false plot of car theft after dialing a hoax call at police helpline Pucar-15.
