Islamabad: The third session of the Online internship Program, “Evolving China in the Modern World” was held yesterday. This internship program is initiated jointly by the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad, and the Communication University of China, Beijing.
The theme for the third session of this internship was related to the “China, Asia, and Global Stability: The Leadership Outlook” and it was conducted by, Professor Chen Liu, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing, China.
The session was commenced with the opening remarks of Dr. Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan, Member Board of Experts, CGSS and Regional Geopolitical Analyst. He welcomed the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of this online internship program to equip scholars with first hand knowledge. Moreover, he praised the visionary leadership outlook of China and specifically mentioned that China has been recognized as the Economy that has outperformed all other internatonal economics in terms of GDP, especially its revival post COVOD-19.
Professor Chen Liu gave a comprehensive presentation on the topic and explained the concept of globalization in detail. She highlighted that it is no longer an era in which a single company can dominate any technology or business by itself. She further elaborated the characteristics and qualities based on which China has become the worlds largest economy.
She further mentioned the difference between China and other western countries and stressed that, over 100 countries and international organizations have given warm responses and support to President Xi Jinping. In a word, China’s connections with the world cover every conteninet and all countries of the world.
She shared insightful statistics regarding China’s Regional Connectivity and highlighted China’s contribution in the energy sector of Asia.
Professor Chen Liu also highlighted Pakistan and China strategic partnership that has proven to be a game changer for the region, she stated that both countries enjoy cordial ties and these will further grow stronger.
Commenting on the Media perception of China and the reality behind she stated that China is actively working on the politics, economy and the promotion of science and technology that is not potrayed in the mainstream media.
The session was moderated by Ms. Palwasha Nawaz, Deputy Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future and Project Executive, CGSS. It is notable that scholars and students from across Pakistan, China and Tanzania have enrolled in this internship program to learn more about China.
