LAHORE: Pakistan’s batting coach termed the T20I series against South Africa, a chance for youngsters to prove themselves at home ground.
Khan told reporters in a virtual conference on Wednesday that the upcoming three-matches T20I home series against South Africa will boost the morale of young cricketers.
“It is very important for players to play at home ground and I mentioned it earlier too. Players are made by playing at home conditions because they are used to the environment,” he said.
“This tour is a great chance for players like Haider Ali and Danish Aziz to prove themselves. I hope they perform well on their chance and make this series big for them,” he added.
The former cricketer said the team’s confidence is high after defeating South Africa 2-0 in the Test series. “When you win, everything is alright then. With your confidence, your energy, and the team environment, everything goes well. The boys are confident after winning the series and we are really looking forward to winning this series,” he mentioned.
On the other hand, Khan missed the home crowd which was not allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Had crowd there in the stadium, the Test series win against South Africa would have been more exciting. Unfortunately, we missed them but I hope to see them soon in the stadium,” he concluded.
