BEIJING: Featuring a stunning display of talent from children across the nation, the “Growing Up Together with Our Motherland” Children’s Day-themed performance wowed audiences over the weekend at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
Co-organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, China Welfare Institute, and the National Center for the Performing Arts, this event received vital support from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and stood as a celebration of unity and diversity, the foundation said in a media release.
The foundation’s Chairman Li Bin, also a senior political adviser, attended the event on Saturday.
More than 1,000 children and teenagers, including from Taiwan, and Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, participated in this performance.
The show was divided into five chapters, featuring including music dramas, ethnic song and dance, and re-imagined Peking Opera.
Takhina Abdurexit, a young performer from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, said it was her first performance in Beijing. “Our country has so many amazing ethnic dances, and I’m super excited to show everyone the Xinjiang dance,” she said.
In the scene drama “Gazing at the Sky,” martial arts performances from Hong Kong seamlessly intertwined with popular dances from the mainland, creating a captivating fusion that transcended boundaries of region, culture, and art form. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
