China sets up innovation alliance

BEIJING: China has set up a new alliance to promote technological innovation on network information security.
The alliance, a non-profit organization, was coordinated by enterprises, universities and research institutions including China Electronic Technology Group Corporation, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Tsinghua University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
The alliance will create a platform for promoting scientific and technological innovation and the development of network information security and coordinating efforts on a larger scale.
Weng Jieming, an official from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, said the alliance will help strengthen the interaction between the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.
It aims to promote the integration of the internet, big data and artificial intelligence with the real economy and help create new industries and new business models.
