BEIJING: Chinese police solved 6,270 cold case murders in 2020, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Public Security.
Of the solved cases, 2,891 were filed more than 20 years ago, said the ministry, noting that the oldest related homicide occurred 42 years ago.
Police nationwide captured 5,381 homicide fugitives, 2,082 of whom had been at large for more than 20 years, the ministry added.
The number of solved murder cases and that of nabbed fugitives both reached record highs, the ministry said. – Agencies
