BEIJING: Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will chair an international meeting on COVID-19 vaccine cooperation on August 5 involving around 30 parties, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.
The first meeting will be held via video link and aims to strengthen vaccine cooperation and promote fair and reasonable distribution of global vaccines, the ministry added.
Meanwhile, China said that the second-phase origins study of COVID-19 should be consistent with the requirements of the resolution of the 73rd World Health Assembly (WHA) which stipulates that the next-phase work plan need to be led by the World Health Organization (WHO) member states.
