BEIJING: Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— The National Health Commission said Thursday it received reports of 63 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland Wednesday, of which 61 were imported. Two new domestic cases were reported in Guangdong Province.
A total of 91 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals Wednesday on the Chinese mainland.
— No new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported Wednesday in central China’s Hubei Province, the provincial health commission said Thursday. Two deaths were reported in Hubei on Wednesday.
— Experts and officials from the city of Yiyang in central China’s Hunan Province shared their COVID-19 treatment experience via a video conference with the Brazilian city Guarulhos on Wednesday.
— Chinese authorities have demanded targeted approaches to resuming business and living order while containing the coronavirus outbreak.
In low-risk areas, venues essential for work and living should be opened in a gradual and orderly manner. Enclosed entertainment and leisure venues should be opened in a prudent way, said a circular issued by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council. – Agencies
