BEIJING: China welcomes enterprises from the U.S. and the world to participate in China’s reform and opening-up and modernization process to achieve mutual benefits, said Premier Li Keqiang during a virtual dialogue with U.S. business leaders Tuesday.
“A healthy and stable China-U.S. relation is expected by the peoples of both countries and the world, which asks both sides respect core interests and major concerns of each other, strengthen communications, enhance factual cooperation and manage differences inclined with the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries,” the premier said.
“Although hit by multiple factors last year, the trade volume between two nations increased, implicating that economic and trade cooperation meet mutual needs and there are definitely opportunities and conditions for bilateral cooperation,” said Premier Li.
“As the world’s largest developing country and the largest developed counterpart, China and the U.S. will gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation,” he stressed, hoping that China and the U.S. can work together to meet each other halfway, and jointly promote safety and stabilization of supply chains.
Premier Li also vowed that China will be more open in the future, further explaining that the new development pattern launched by China aims to support economic growth and employment domestically, and to make China a promise land for foreign capitals and large market for the world.
“Through building a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, we welcome enterprises from the U.S. and the world to participate in China’s reform and opening-up and modernization process, to achieve mutual benefits,” he said.
U.S. business leaders backed initiatives to boost mutual trust by dialogue, strengthen cooperation in fields like prevention and control of the epidemic, dealing with climate change, sustainable development and innovation, and resume personnel exchanges as soon as possible.
