Chinese community donates over 20,000 masks

– Friend in need is a friend indeed

ISLAMABAD: Overseas China Association in Pakistan has donated over 20,000 masks to Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad on Thursday a token of friendship. The Overseas China Association in Pakistan is an organization of the Chinese people working, studying and living in Pakistan, with a total membership of three thousand, established in 2007.
The donation was made at the Commissioner office, where the Overseas China Association in Pakistan’s President Dr. La Jielian, along with Vice President Mu Xiumei, and Secretary Ma Bin handed over the package of 20,000 masks to Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqat.
On the occasion Dr. La said, that the Chinese living in Pakistan will continue to support Islamabadians and Pakistani nation in this time of need.
‘We will continue to support our brothers to control the virus spread in Pakistan. This is a small gesture of goodwill from the Chinese living in Pakistan’, he said.
Dr. La said that this is not the time to panic but to adopt preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus. As, China has been successfully doing so, initially by disseminating awareness of the virus infection to citizens and then jointly controlling the infection at all levels. ‘The Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Pakistan, people should not panic, but they need to adopt preventive measures to control and eliminate the virus from the roots, Just like China. China has successfully controlled the virus infection in the last two months’, he asserted.
Dr. La further said that the Pakistani government has been doing great so far, all government machineries have been mobilized in this regard. Hopefully, the spread of infection will be controlled. While, he reaffirmed that the Chinese community will continue to support Pakistani brothers.
‘The actions that the Pakistani government has taken so far, is very solid. The spread of infection will be controlled, successfully. Though, the Chinese community will continue to support the Iron Brother’, he reiterated.
While, talking to the Overseas China Association members Deputy Commissioner said that Pakistan has been blessed with a good neighbor and a brother.
The friendship between the two nations is strong and that we are thankful for the donation. ‘It’s an honor to receive donation from our Chinese brothers, this means a lot and we are thankful for the support from Chinese community’, he thanked.
