ISLAMABAD: China International Intellectech Group Co. Ltd. (CIIC), a leading Chinese state-owned human resource enterprise, has signed a cooperation agreement with Pakistan’s Skill Tech Hub to launch an international-standard welding training program aimed at producing skilled Pakistani welders for Chinese-funded projects.
The agreement, signed on last Friday in Islamabad, marks the beginning of a pilot initiative to train 100 Pakistani welders under global technical and safety standards.
Chairperson of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, witnessed the ceremony and facilitated the partnership, underscoring Pakistan’s growing role as a regional hub for technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
Under the program sponsored by CIIC, classes will commence on November 1, 2025, with training conducted at Skill Tech Hub’s facilities.
The trainees will receive international-standard certification, and all successful graduates will be provided 100 percent employment opportunities through CIIC’s partner enterprises operating in Pakistan.
“This collaboration is a milestone in Pakistan–China cooperation in the skills development sector,” said Noor Fatima Alvi, Director of Skill Tech Hub, who signed the agreement on behalf of the Pakistani side.
“It will empower our youth with globally competitive technical skills and direct job placements.”
NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal Ahmad praised the partnership as a “landmark step” toward realizing Pakistan’s vision of becoming a regional training and employment hub, adding that such collaborations will strengthen Pakistan–China people-to-people connectivity through skills and technology exchange.
Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Beijing, CIIC is a key enterprise under China’s central government, specializing in human resource and intellectual services. The group operates in over 300 Chinese cities and serves around 100,000 companies worldwide, including in the areas of labor export, training, and technology services. –Agencies
